Black Friday Employee Stress

Joy to the world and happy turkey day! Christmas and Thanksgiving are around the corner. Stores are decorating and getting ready for the holiday rush. During the Fall and Winter seasons, many people are rushing to get decorations, Christmas gifts, and lots of different foods. One of the busiest times for stores is only a few weeks away, Black Friday. Black Friday is on the day after Thanksgiving and is the busiest time for stores.

This day symbolizes the start of the holiday shopping season. Stores offer discounts on many things like clothes, toys, electronics and much more. According to an article named, Stores famous for the best Black Friday deals by Jim Probasco, he states that ‘’ Macy’s, Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart are some of the best stores to visit during Black Friday due to having some of the highest discounts.’’

When asked about stores to go to during Black Friday, The principal of Waukee High School, Cary Justmann said, ‘’I like to go to Scheels, and also Dicks Sporting Goods because they have good deals on shoes and sweatshirts.’’

Besides the shopping part on Black Friday, the workers have a much bigger duty during Black Friday. According to a student at Waukee High School named Nuer Bijiek, who is approaching his first holiday working season, he stated ‘’I have been working at Walmart for three months now and he will be working on Black Friday. It’s going to be different than regular working because the store is going to be way busier, and instead of having one day full of deals, we release deals weekly.’’ Holiday fun is almost here and people are preparing for it fast.
