An Open World
At the beginning of the game, you start by parachuting out of the back of a plane and get a taste of the 11 different biomes across the Forza 5 map. Based in Mexico, the map is the biggest of all the Forza games, With over 107 miles through every street, the average size for the Forza maps is about 42.6 miles. The Forza franchise is one of the best creators of open-world racing games.
At the beginning of the game, you parachute out of the back of a plane into the Gran Caldera Volcano where you come pretty close to driving in smoldering lava. Then you go down the hills of the volcano and into the sandy desert. Then you get to drive through the Arid Hills biome where you see your first sandstorm. After that, you get dropped again over the swamp where you get to see flamingos, a beautiful waterfall, and temple ruins. During this run, you also get to drive through the jungle and pass the amazing suspension bridge. And finally, after that, you get dropped off again into the Living Desert where you can see the farming circles if you look to the right. And eventually finishing this initial intro at the first Horizon Festival.
You do eventually get to discover the remaining 5 biomes through the first couple of story races.
Pushing The Limits
Forza 5 launched with over 500 cars already in the game, and with weekly updates every Thursday, there are many more to come! Because there are tons and tons of cars in the game the prices of those cars vary, some of the cheapest cars in the game can be found in the auction house ranging from $4,000 at the very cheapest all the way up to 30 million dollars, that car is the 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe!
There are 3 different types of races in Forza 5, road races, dirt races, and cross country races. Each race obviously has a different type of car needed, and track design. After completing enough of each race you can unlock its faster-paced race. Road races turn into street races which have a lot more straightaways so you can go faster and reach the top speed of your car. Dirt races turn into rally races with higher class cars you can throw yourself into corners and complete the race faster with easily 2 times more horsepower and speed. And finally, cross country races, allow you to use any of your cars expecting you to know where you’re driving and how you’re driving.
Overall, Forza Horizon 5 is one of the best open-world racing games you can play and since it is on Xbox game pass, you can get it for free!
