The Raisin Locker Pranks

High school can open people up to many different experiences, for sophomore Jake Pallister putting raisins in lockers is what will stick with him. He started the raisin locker a couple of weeks before winter break started. When asked, Jake said, “I got the idea when two guys in my app dev class filled Mrs. Larson’s drawer with raisins. They made a deal about it for a day and I thought it would be funny to fill a whole locker.” They had a slow start to filling up the lockers in February until the school caught on to the popularity of the raisins and bought more. Jake started running into problems when he got called down to the office and was asked to dispose of it after the school found out about what was happening.
Despite the school’s request, Jake did not stop, he said, “ I didn’t. This made me 10x more determined to finish it.” Eventually, Jake and his friends got more staff members on board and the school gave up and just let it happen. Science teacher Mr.Frist said, “It’s a work of art.” More and more people started to find out, and they even got principle Mr.Justmann put the last box of raisins in the first locker. As time went on the students and staff got very interested and invested in the lockers and the hype surrounding them.
They filled up a second locker full of raisins in three weeks flat and started on a third locker that they plan on completing by the end of the school year. The lockers got so popular that they even made an Instagram @waukee_raisin_lockers. When asked, Jake Pallister said, “I enjoy doing this because I enjoy seeing passerby’s laugh at it or take a photo, as well as the inside joke that surrounds it. It had its fair share of controversy (specifically with teachers who think it’s a waste of time).” Jake says that he keeps the lockers going to keep the joke running. He also hopes to keep this going next year.
