Halloween Movies
The best Halloween movies to watch

It’s October and spooky season has just begun. To get students in the Halloween spirit, I asked them to share their favorite Halloween movies. Sophomore Kelly Hoffman exclaimed, “Hocus Pocus is my favorite Halloween movie because it gets me in the spirit for Halloween”. When I asked why she loves Halloween, Kelly responded “because of free candy and friends”. Another student, junior Sally Mansaray, said “Friday the 13th is my favorite Halloween movie because it has a plot twist at the end you don’t see coming” . Sally also exclaims how she has watched The conjuring, IT, Happy Death Day, The Nun, Truth or Dare, Chucky, and Friday the 13th. “I liked the movie with Johnny Depp because Johnny Depp was a good actor in it, also a great actor overall”. Senior Sam Nigg said that his favorite Halloween movie is Girl vs monster. “It’s a nostalgic movie and has good music”, explained Sam.
Although these are all great movies to binge on this Halloween, a horror movie I would recommend is IT. The movie IT is about a clown named Pennywise who comes out every 27 years to prey on and traumatize the children of Derry Maine. A group of bullied kids joins together to destroy Pennywise the clown. Pennywise has been the cause of many local children going missing. One of the main children that went missing was George Bill’s little brother. If you are into gore and comedy, IT is the perfect horror movie for you.
