Trending Shoes: Valentine’s Day Air Forces

Valentine’s day is a day when people around the world showcase their love for friends, family, and spouses. This year Nike is expected to come out with Valentine-themed Air Forces around mid-February. It is the classic low sneaker decorated in the colors of white pink and red. Nike has also done similar projects like the valentines shoes in the past, one of them was the LeBron-themed Christmas shoes,  Which had a green base and red stitching throughout to create a cool Stitch combination. Some may say Valentine’s shoes are overrated because they are seasonal and can’t go with many outfits since most of the time the seasonal themes match the colors of the holiday, for example, for Christmas their Christmas shoes would be green, and red obviously cannot match with every outfit. Others think they are cute and worth the money.

 Here are some student opinions on the shoes. Sophomore Malaya Fuller exclaims “I think the shoes are okay, the dunks are better and I feel they might be a little overrated. I will not be buying them.”  Students think the shoes are overrated because they are just seasonal and will eventually be out of the market. Another student Junior Deja James expresses “Me being a shoe fanatic, I was excited to see them. They are cute and I like the cherries on them. In my opinion, they aren’t worth the hype because they are seasonal shoes and they cannot go with every outfit, yes they are cute but I won’t be buying them.” Some students believe the shoes are only cute for the day but once the holiday is over there will be no use for them. Senior Danessa Sambalyegula says “I feel like Valentine’s shoes are cute for holidays but other than that there’s nothing really special about them. Name brands just take colorways they already have and up the price of the shoe. Also, there are only so many designs you can do with them. “

Some students think the shoes are worth the hype and some believe that they are overrated. I personally believe the shoes are not worth the hype because they are seasonal and seasonal shoes are usually overpriced and only cute for holidays. More details about the valentines shoes are expected to surface at the beginning of February and are expected to release mid-February.
