With the coming of spring, comes the revival of spring drinks. Many places have these seasonal drinks in the spring, including McDonald’s with their infamous Shamrock Shake. These drinks often come around the time of St. Patrick’s day and stay until summertime. Some of these drinks include Arby’s Mint Shake, Starbucks Cinnamon Caramel Cream Nitro, and the Shamrock Shake at Mcdonald’s.
Shamrock Shake
A seasonal favorite has made its return to the golden arches. On Feb. 20, McDonald’s brought back the Shamrock Shake along with a minty friend, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, to widespread applause on social media and beyond. Yes, the American public as usual is quite excited about the return of the green treat just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. According to the home of the Hamburglar, the Shamrock Shake was created in 1967 by Hal Rosen, a franchise owner in Connecticut who made the mint shake in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. It was such a success that the treat debuted nationally in 1970 and has been a big hit across the country from its debut to today. “I’ve only had the Shamrock Shake once last, and it was pretty good. I hope nothing much has changed.” Sophomore Jack Lau.

Senior Nolan Klemesrud says, “I enjoy all of the seasonal drinks that come out, and March seasonal is one of my favorites.” The Shamrock FrappuccinoIt’s pretty similar to some of the other green Starbucks drinks mentioned above but doesn’t come with java chips. Arby’s
Arby’s, the fast-food chain most famous for its gyro sandwiches, has brought back its fan-favorite mint chocolate shakes for a limited time. The ‘Mint Chocolate Shake’ at Arby’s is made with a vanilla base, mint syrup, whipped cream, a chocolate drizzle, and crushed mint pieces. This is the first limited edition item from Arby’s in 2022, and the choice of a mint chocolate flavor is perfect for closing out the end-of-year festivities of 2023. While this was announced later than most peppermint drinks, such as Starbucks’ peppermint mocha which runs from October to January, this milkshake will be available for longer throughout the first few months of 2022, while supplies last. Junior Payton Mizer says, “Arby’s is one of the fast food restaurants that I go to frequently, and I’m a little excited to try the new stuff.” The Mint Chocolate Shake is available now at certain Arby’s locations for $2.79 for a small and $3.99 for a large.
