Finland joining NATO could potentially change the world

On April 4th, 2023 Finland, a country that has remained somewhat neutral in modern times officially joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). NATO is an Intergovernmental organization that maintains democracy for its 31 member countries. A prominent “enemy” of this organization is Russia. Tensions have been very high since Russia waged a full-scale invasion and turned the war in Ukraine, especially due to the heavy funding to Ukrainian armed forces by the US Government.
Finland is a Scandinavian country that shares its eastern border with Russia. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, Both Sweden and Finland lay on the Russian border, and have switched from neutral to joining the NATO alliance, Sweden joined on July 5th of 2022, around nine months before Finland joined the organization
This poses a significant threat to Russia, another 830 miles of borders with a country in NATO can be viewed as a threat to Russia. Russia condemned Sweden and called this an “encroachment on security” There are doubts about military action to be taken, given brutal Russia is currently fighting in Ukraine.
Finland and Russia have a history of conflicts between two countries, from November 30, 1939–March 12, 1940, both countries were engaged in the Russo-Finnish also referenced as the Winter War, they also fought a battle during the second world war
