Golden Child 3 (GC3)- Autumn!

Autumn! Formally known as Twinuzis, one of the pioneers of PluggnB (a genre that utilizes elements from genres such as trap, EDM, and melodic) came into the spotlight in 2019 with the hit “Nina” which is a fast-paced vibey song. Later in 2020 Autumn! released “Still the Same” which remains one of the most beloved songs in all of the PluggnB genre. 

The third rendition of the “Golden Child” trilogy, Autumn! released on March 31, 2023, contains a total of twenty-four songs. Some of these songs are re-released, which is good for this album because they make the tracklists flow better. The highlights of this album are Still the Same 2, Them> You, My Collection! 2, and Toothache & Gaslighting. These songs were highly anticipated by fans of Autumn! After hearing the snippets, and when they were officially released fans were not disappointed. “The way he can craft unique beats and turn older songs into newer renditions that still hit as hard as the old ones are admirable.” Overall rating 8.5/10

Let’s Start Here- Lil Yatchy

Lil Yatchy is a rapper who blew up in late 2015 with the hit singles  “One Night” and “Minnesota” His upcoming wasn’t an easy uphill journey with many people not liking his voice and use of mumble rapping in his songs. Yatchy had dropped five studio albums and four mixtapes before “Let’s Start Here” 

Let’s Start Here released on January 27, 2023,  and possess fourteenth songs. Unlike any other Lil Yatchy album, Let’s Start Here doesn’t fall under the trap, melodic, or mumble section. Instead, Let’s Start Here falls under the Indie/Alternative with a little hint of rap mixed in which surprised many Yatchy fans. George Hinke is one of those fans who believes Yatchy’s growth is good for the music scene. “As an artist, I feel like Yatchy has grown a lot. His music is refreshing, deep thought out, and has meaning.”. Almost no one expected Yatchy to switch up his style but it indeed paid off creating new Yatchy fans in the process. The best songs of the album are “drive ME crazy!”, “prETTY”,” the ride-”, and “paint THE sky”. Each of these songs illustrates Yatchy’s ability to adapt to new styles and make great music. Overall rating 9/10

AftërLyfe- Yeat

After blowing up on TikTok in 2021 with the creative songs “Gët Busy” and “Money Twerk” and then once again in 2022 with “Talk” and “Flawlëss” Yeat has made his push to the mainstream media. Yeat was the first rapper to utilize bells in the background of his songs that match the beats and due to this new sound he has grown a very extensive base. With over 10 million monthly listeners Yeat is growing rapidly and will continue to with his unique style.

On February 24, 2023, Yeat dropped his highly anticipated album AftërLyfe with a total of twenty-two tracks. Each track has a different style and overall vibe to it which makes this album a good listen. On this album, Yeat experimented with newer sounds such as R&B and Melodic songs like “Mysëlf” and “nun id change”. Some fans were pleasantly surprised while others wish he only focused on his own style. Gaby Okelloh is one of the people who enjoyed it “I love the album since I am a newer fan, he shows off all the different styles he can on this album and it a good listen.” Overall rating 8/10
