Waukee, the suburb of Des Moines, is becoming less quiet with new business additions. As one of the fastest-growing cities in Iowa, the arrival of popular retail and dining is inevitable. Most of us traveled to West Des Moines for stores such as Walmart and Target. We’d also make the drive for fast foods like Chick-fil-A, Canes, and Panda Express. Surely, soon enough we’d stay in the comfort of our area.
However, the area will include more than just food and stores. The Waukee Towne Center will be ideal for friends and family. It will have various entertainment spots, a skating rink, a summer game area, a playground, and water features. This area will be a great spot for multiple people in town, or out. The development will also provide exercise opportunities as a bike path, and lake you could take a stroll around.
The most exciting development is the long-awaited Target. Though it may be busy, it’s more convenient. Plus Starbucks is right there! Senior Trinity Perry said, “The target is a lot smaller than I thought. But it’s nice because it’s down the street from my house.” This popular store attracts many people as it’s a fun place to shop and purchase your necessities without having to go down to West Des Moines.
Right beside Target, Freddy’s has been set up. Steakburgers, hot dogs, and frozen custards are all within hand’s reach. Junior Nya Martin said, “The inside is super nice and clean, and the food is great.” Freddy’s provides a great dine-in experience. Once you’re done shopping, you could head straight to Freddy’s for a good meal and a sweet treat.
Sophomore Amie Bashir said, “With Waukee’s population growing, the Waukee Town Center will be a great investment, with many places to shop and dine!”
Overall, Waukee is becoming a more vibrant and convenient place to live. With new businesses already set in place, such as Freddy’s and the much anticipated Target, the residents of Waukee no longer have to travel to West Des Moines for popular stores and dining options. Soon, the new addition of Waukee Town Center will bring new entertainment, activities, and a community to enjoy with your people. The future of Waukee is looking bright with the various developments.
