Looking for formal wear for prom? Look no further than our very own school.

As Prom approaches, many are looking for fun and trendy outfits to wear. Luckily, our school has a low-cost opportunity with many different options. Between the $30 entrance fee and formal wear that can get to over $100, the expense of just one dance can make people reconsider attending in the first place. With this knowledge in mind, Beth Streit started The Prom Boutique.
The boutique has been in the works for a few years now but had its official opening on March 10th of this year. It has a large variety of different styles and colors. They carefully sort through all of the donated clothes to find those that are new or gently used, and in fashion. Beth said that they currently have, “roughly 125 dresses donated 75 jewelry items, 20 suits, 10 tuxedos, and 25 pairs of shoes.” In addition to their large collection, if you don’t find something you like, you can fill out a form and they will try to find an option for you.
The shop is for everyone, not just students in the district, and appointments can be scheduled by emailing bstreit@waukeeschools.org. There are also days when students can just walk in to browse the selection. This year, over 30 different students were able to use this resource, so hopefully, the boutique will continue to receive donations and run for many proms to come. The last day you can come in this year is Thursday, April 3.
