Tatum and Allen dominate early matchups

The NBA playoffs started up and some teams are looking better than ever. The Bucks, Heat, and Celtics look like serious contenders in the Eastern Conference, while Golden State and the Suns look like the dominant force in the Western Conference. So far in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks and Celtics are playing each other in round 2 of the playoffs. The Heat is moving onto round 2 as well, with their win against the Hawks.
In the Western Conference, all the matchups are looking close. The only exception is Golden State, who beat the Nuggets to get into round 2 of the playoffs. Jayson Tatum is also making his case for being one of the most dominant players in the NBA. His lockdown defense on Kevin Durant is one of the reasons why the Celtics swept the Nets. He is also dominant on offense, averaging close to 30 points a game. Another unexpected player that is dominating the playoffs is Grayson Allen. When Kris Middleton went down with a knee injury, Allen filled in his role with great numbers. Allen is 11-14 from the 3-point line, being dominant against the Bulls by averaging 24.5 points in games two and three. Jordan Poole is no exception when it comes to surprising players. He has averaged 28.7 points in his first three games against the Nuggets. The Warriors can not make it far without Poole’s production.
Peter McKibben, a senior, named Chris Paul as a standout player in the playoffs so far. “The Suns will win in the west and the Celtics in the east,” he said. Many people would agree with Peter since a Celtics and Suns matchup would not only be realistic but also a fan favorite. Another popular matchup would be the Warriors and Bucks. Sean Kamara, a sophomore, said “Warriors and Bucks” when asked who would win the championship as well. In the end, only time will tell who performs well and takes it all home.
